WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The newest dinner theater show in town will transport you to Renaissance times.

The Bard's Broads is performing at TheatreNOW on S. 10th St. in Wilmington.

Audience members are invited into a tavern called The Dirty Quill where they meet the innkeeper and his wenches who fill the evening with merriment, tall tales and bawdy songs.

"Shipwrecks and wizards and love lost, found, lost, found, somewhat lost, bored with," said actress Anna Gamel. "Yeah, some references to maybe the Shakespeare, if you will."

And everyone gets involved.

"The audience is basically guests in our inn, so there's no fourth wall," said Gamel. "We break that. We are out there with them. We don't necessarily pull them on stage, but they become incorporated in this day in the life of the Dirty Quill. It's fun. It's rowdy. It's a good time."

Tickets are $38 and include a three-course meal.  The menu is as follows:
