NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Dr. Rick Holliday was recently named Deputy Superintendent of New Hanover County Schools, according a spokesperson for the school system.
Holliday, who's currently Assistant Superintendent of Student Support Services, has worked for the school system for 31 years, and will now oversee new in-house legal counsel, public information, exceptional children, safety and the non-traditional schools.
Wayne Bullard will be the new in-house counsel and will begin sometime next month, with a salary of $90,000. Holliday will receive a $5,000 raise from his current salary of about $118,000.
In the past, Holliday has been the Principal of Williston Middle School and Laney High School. In 2004, he was named Executive Director of Instructional Services before being promoted to his most recent role in 2007.
