WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Your First Alert Weather Team is monitoring Tropical Storm Humberto and possible new tropical storm development in the southern Gulf of Mexico.
TROPICAL STORM HUMBERTO: As of Tuesday night, Tropical Storm Humberto was moving north over the open waters of the central Atlantic Ocean between the Azores Islands and Bermuda. The system is likely no threat to land areas except its remnant moisture may affect northern Europe this weekend or next week.
NEW TROPICAL STORM DEVELOPMENT? It's possible with an area of disturbed weather that will enter the southern Gulf of Mexico in the next one to three days. Computer models suggest that some moisture from this disturbance may be drawn northeastward - and toward the southeastern U.S. - late this weekend or early next week.
