"Master plan" for riverfront park to be discussed Monday

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT)- Wilmington City staff members will present a new "master plan" for the development of the riverfront park to City Council Monday.

According to Dylan Lee, Wilmington GTV8 Station Manager and city spokesperson, the master plan will include new details for what will be present above-ground in the park.

"The master plan really refers to what people see, and how the open space is laid out and what kinds of amenities and things like splash-pads and benches and fountains and those sorts of things," said Lee.

He said the actual park construction will begin in the middle of next year and could last up to 14 months.
