WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The Carolina Coast Harley Davidson dealership in Wilmington played host to a benefit event for Kim Munley Saturday.
Munley was injured during the 2009 Fort Hood shooting. She recently testified at the trial of Nidal Hasan in Texas. She spent numerous days in the Lone Star State during the trial.
The Rolling Thunder Chapter 3 organization organized the event Saturday to help pay for some of the expenses Munley had while testifying during the trial.
Matt Wall, president of the local Rolling Thunder chapter, said he is thankful for Kim Munley's service.
"Our first responders really need whatever help that we can give them and all the respect that we can possibly give them," said Wall. "We're really lucky (Munley's) with us. She's just a great person and we're happy to help out in any way we can."
Wall said he hoped the group could raise up to $1,500 for Munley's family.
