WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Your First Alert Weather Team is monitoring Tropical Storm Humberto and Tropical Storm Gabrielle.
LATEST ON HUMBERTO: As of Tuesday night, Humberto featured maximum sustained winds of 70mph and a minimum central pressure of 995mb. The center of this strong tropical storm was just southwest of Africa's Cape Verde Islands in the far eastern Atlantic and was moving northwest at 5 - 10mph.
TRACK AND INTENSITY FORECAST: Computer models support Humberto moving northwestward through the week and also having an opportunity to intensify into a Category 1 hurricane by midweek. Early indications are that steering winds will not likely allow the system to ever fully cross the Atlantic Ocean - but we'll monitor the system closely nonetheless!
LATEST ON GABRIELLE: The National Hurricane Center continues to issue advisories on Tropical Storm Gabrielle as it moves northward through the Atlantic near Bermuda.
TRACK AND INTENSITY FORECAST: Gabrielle will bring tropical storm conditions to Bermuda into Wednesday and possibly to southeastern Canada late in the week. The system will not likely impact the eastern United States.
