Woman killed on US 60 after driver falls asleep

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A woman was killed in an overnight crash on westbound U.S. Highway 60 at the Loop 101 Price Freeway.

The Department of Public Safety said a pickup truck driver fell asleep at the wheel and clipped an SUV early Thursday morning.

The SUV got turned sideways on the highway and was then hit by a third vehicle.

The woman driving the SUV was killed.

The westbound US 60 was closed for about an hour and reopened before rush hour.
