BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A man who was allegedly shot in the stomach by his brother last month is out of the hospital and doing well, Cpt. Rodney Hester with the Bladen County Sheriff's Office reports.
Hester says it appears that Terry Devane Lewis of Dublin was feeding his horse, which he keeps on family property near where his brother, 51-year-old Tony Elmore Lewis, lives. Tony came out of his home with a shotgun, accusing Terry of talking about him, and reportedly proceeded to shoot Terry as he was trying to get away.
Tony was charged with attempted murder, and still remains in jail under a $104,100 bond.
When authorities arrived on scene, Tony was inside of the home and refused to come out. He surrendered after tear gas was used to get him to come outside.
