Flooding is a major issue for residents off of Holly Drive in Boiling Spring Lakes
BOILING SPRING LAKES, NC (WECT) – Boiling Spring Lakes city council authorized the city manager to begin looking for experts to do a study on the flooding issues along Holly Drive, Redwood Road, and Crab Apple Road.
After a comprehensive study is complete, town leaders will hold a public workshop with residents and engineers to discuss possible solutions for the problem. This comes after several community members spoke up about problems with high water levels throughout the city.
The city's current policy is to clear water from city streets but when it comes to private property, homeowners are on the own.
We interviewed Ricky Rigg last week, who's been stuck in high water all summer long. After tonight's meeting, Rigg said "I'm pleased to see the city finally taking action. This is a step in the right direction."
