ROCKY POINT, NC (WECT)- A family of nine is now without a home after a fire in Rocky Point destroyed their single-wide trailer Friday evening.
According to Tom Collins with Pender County Emergency Management, the fire broke out around 5 p.m. at the trailer located in the 700 block of Sandy Bend Rd. in Rocky Point.
Collins said the cause of the fire is still unknown and currently under investigation.
Collins said crews from Rocky Point, Hampstead and Long Creek Fire Departments all assisted in putting out the fire. He said Pender County EMS and Fire Prevention crews also assisted in putting out the fire.
Collins said the people who were living in the trailer, the Arnold family, are currently being aided by the Red Cross.
