WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Police in Wilmington are investigating after finding two apartments and one car shot up early Saturday morning.
According to Lt. Blanton with the Wilmington Police Dept., officers recovered five shell casings from N. 30th Street in the Creekwood area after they responded to a call of shots being fired around 1:11 a.m. When officers arrived, about 50 individuals were in the 900 block of North 30th Street, but no one would provide any information.
Police have no leads on a suspect at this point.
More shell casings were recovered at the 1000 block of Thomas C. Jervay Loop around 2:34 a.m., where witnesses said that two groups of people were shooting at each other.
The occupants of a building in the Jervay housing complex said that there was a gunshot in their apartment, and that another apartment was also shot along with a vehicle in front of the building.
No one was injured, and suspects haven't been identified.
Additionally, several residents made calls to New Hanover County dispatch around 1:30 a.m. citing shots fired in the area of Seventh and Greenfield streets. Officers were unable to recover any shell casings in that area, but information received by officials leads them to believe it could have possibly been fireworks.
