PHOENIX,AZ (WECT) -- Arizona Cardinals first-round draft pick Jonathan Cooper's season ended before it even started.
The Cardinals placed Cooper on the season-ending injured reserve list. This after the former Hoggard standout broke his left leg in the teams third preseason game.
Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians had held out hope, that after surgery that Cooper would be able to return.
In a team press release Cardinals General Manager Steve Keim said "Based on the medical prognosis and weighing all of the other factors, we decided that placing him on IR made the most sense for the team and for Jonathan."
