BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Patrons and the owner of Remedy's Lounge, located on Holden Beach Road, are repainting it after the owner says someone spray-painted racial slurs on the building and knocked out some windows, causing about $2,000 worth of damage.
"The N-word people are the ones who wrote this if you ask me. An ignorant person," said Rhonda Randolph, a patron.
Patrons say they think it's sad someone damaged the building, because Remedy's is a bar where all are welcome, unlike some other bars in the area. The owner believes her bar was targeted because she has many black friends, and a good number of black patrons visit her bar.

The owner and many patrons believe whoever is behind the vandalism should be charged with a hate crime.
"They're singling out a certain type of people. One race of people. It doesn't say white on there. So it's obvious who they're seeking out," said Tony Cicero a patron.
According to a spokeswoman with the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office they don't have a suspect. The spokeswoman says, they can't determine charges until there's an arrest.
Deputies believe the incident happened between three and five Friday morning.
