WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Hundreds of fans in Wilmington got a first look at the new FOX show, Sleepy Hollow Tuesday night.
Wilmington won a free, advance screening of the show, along with New York, LA and Chicago.
The screening was held at Regal Mayfaire Cinemas. So many fans showed up, a line extended outside and wrapped around the theater. The show played in two theaters, allowing around 500 to see the show. Unfortunately, organizers had to turn some fans away.
Those who were lucky enough to get in to see the show were also treated to a surprise appearance from two of Sleepy Hollow's actors.
Orlando Jones and Katia Winter greeted fans before the show lit up the screen.
Jones, who is originally from Greenville, South Carolina, told the audience that he is happy to be filming the show in the south.
He also encouraged fans to come up and say hello to him when they see the cast and crew out and about.
Winter attended the screening with his wife, Katia brought her sister; all four stayed to watch the pilot on the big screen.
Jones promised the crowd that the show will only get bigger and bigger as the season unfolds.
Sleepy Hollow also stars Tom Mison and Nicole Beharie.
The show is a modern-day twist on the Washington Irving classic, Ichabod Crane. In the show, Crane is resurrected 250 years later as humanity's last hope.
