GLENDALE, AZ (WECT) – Arizona Cardinals guard Jonathan Cooper had a successful surgery to repair his broken leg. His leg was broken during the Cardinal's third preseason game against the San Diego Chargers.
Bruce Arians, the Cardinal's head coach, addressed the media Monday about players' injuries. When asked about Cooper's leg he said, "The doctors are positive about the surgery."
The head coach is optimistic that Cooper could return with six weeks left in the season. The team is still trying to decide if they will put Cooper on the injured reserve list. If that happens he could play again this season if he recovers fully.
According to Arians there were no rods or plates put in place to help his bone heal.
