NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
With just over four months left in the year, security officials at Nashville International Airport say they have surpassed a milestone.
The Transportation Security Administration has already confiscated more guns this year than during all of last year.
The latest incident - the 34th gun found this year - was Friday, when TSA agents discovered a loaded .40 pistol in a passenger's carry-on bag at the security checkpoint.
In all of 2012, TSA workers confiscated 32 guns at BNA.
Remember, passengers can transport firearms on airplanes but not in their carry-on luggage.
If you need to travel with a gun, it has to be in a checked bag and it has to be declared with the airline. It must also be unloaded in a locked, hard-side case and packed separately from any ammunition.
