WILMINGTON, NC - (WECT) - The construction on Riverfront Park in downtown Wilmington forced the Historic Marketplace to relocate, but some of the vendors say it's actually helping them out.
The marketplace, which takes place from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Sundays, was moved to the Bailey Theater Park. We spoke to one vendor who says, she's seen a boost in business and an increase in the number of people coming through.
Since the new location is on Front Street and right outside of the Parking Garage, she says many people are stopping by that were just planning on getting lunch or shopping at a store on Front Street.
"It's fantastic, the sound is bouncing off the walls and drawing people in who normally would have walked by and just missed us, it's great," said Janice Schwartz.
Monday, construction repairs will start on the Riverfront Park. Only northbound traffic will be allowed on Water Street between Market and Princess.
