WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The Wilmington Convention Center played host to the "Epicurean Event" Thursday evening.
The banquet attracted hundreds of people and was complete with food, drink, and a live auction. As she has in years past, WECT's Frances Weller acted as an MC for the event.
The festivities were a benefit for the Methodist Home for Children charity. The organization provides a safe home for children in need.
Vnette and Denise Boney were two of the keynote speakers at the event. They used to live in the Methodist Home and now they help promote the organization.
"Once you're in their arms you're there forever," said Denise Boney. "It's an amazing experience. It's an eye opener, and it brings joy and happiness to your lives."
