Hines family no stranger to the law

Rashaun Hines' older brother is Garry Orlando Hines, who was charged  in September 2011 with first degree murder in connection to the death of Cornelius Tremayne Blanks, 20 from Burgaw in May 2011.

That incident took place at Club 609, which has since been closed. Another man was stabbed during that incident.

According to documents obtained by WECT, a fight broke out at Club 609 when the DJ played a song by a Taaron Jones, a high ranking member of the Blood gang. Documents and interviews show that Jones was a 3 star general in the Double I Blood gang.

He had been stabbed to death earlier in the year at the Rhino in Wilmington, which also has since closed.

Garry Hines was arrested several months later by US Marshals. He posted a $300,000 bond in February 2013 and is out on the streets. Garry Hines is expected in court December 1 in connection to charges for first degree murder.

Rashaun and Garry have a half brother named Alquon Flowers, who went missing two months after the incident at Club 609 in 2011. Several agencies have searched for Flowers in New Hanover and Brunswick Counties, but he has not been found and is officially listed as a missing person.

At the time, law enforcement officials speculated that Flowers may have been kidnapped as retaliation for the actions of his half brothers.

Their father's home on N. 11th Street was shot at twice in the same weekend in June 2013, while he was home
