WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WECT) – The Wrightsville Beach bridge is going up and staying up…maybe. The North Carolina Department of Transportation will be working on the bridge from 11:30 Monday night until August 20, at 5 a.m.
NCDOT crews will be making repairs on the bridge overnight and could close the bridge if the weather holds out. If the weather is not in their favor, then the bridge will stay open. The bridge is also scheduled to close over night again on Tuesday and Wednesday later this week.
Emergency vehicles will have access to the bridge and officers will be stationed at each end of the bridge during the closure.
Check back with WECT.COM for the latest on the bridge closure, and make sure to watch Carolina in the Morning starting at 5am to get live traffic updates from Caraline Waldrep.
