Police continue search of shooting suspect, victim remains in hospital
Officers are searching for a suspect near Randall Parkway in Wilmington.
WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Authorities are investigating a shooting incident that happened Sunday night near an apartment complex off Randall Parkway in Wilmington.
According to Sgt. Kittrell, officials are searching for the person they believe is responsible for the shooting that sent a 40-year-old man to the hospital.
Kittrell said Monday morning the victim is still in the hospital. According to police, the victim was shot in the arm, leg and hip. Dispatchers said the injuries were not considered life-threatening, but the his condition is unknown at this time.
Supervisors with New Hanover County Dispatch said police blocked off several streets Sunday night near the Pinewood Apartments while investigators searched the area.
Police say they have a good idea of who the suspect is and where he lives. Police are taking precaution because they do not know if the suspect is still armed, according to the 911 center.
