Five face marijuana, heroin charges following drug bust

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Officers with the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office Vice-Narcotics Task Force arrested five people after officials say they found heroin and marijuana.

According to the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office, a search warrant was executed in the 2100 block of Ellis Road in Supply early Friday morning.

Whitney Dean McKeithan, 20, of Elk Road in Supply, was arrested for one count of trafficking opium or heroin (more than 28 grams of opiates), possession of heroin, possession of marijuana (up to ½ oz), and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

McKeithan is currently being held at the Brunswick County Detention Facility under a $750,000 bond.

Erik Douglas Grissett, 28, of Ellis Drive in Supply, was arrested for one count of trafficking opium or heroin (more than 28 grams of opiates), possession of heroin, possession of marijuana (up to ½ oz), and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Nicholas Benoy, 22, of Harris Street in Supply, was arrested for one count of trafficking opium or heroin (more than four grams, but less than 14 grams of opiates), possession of heroin, possession of marijuana (up to ½ oz), and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Officials say, in a separate incident, Justin Garvin, 21, of Little Macedonia Road in Supply, has been arrested for possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Melisia Dawn Todd, 29, of Newberry Lane in Bolivia, was arrested for possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

According to the news release, this arrest was a result of a traffic stop by the Highway Patrol who arrested Garvin for possession of a firearm by a felon and carrying a concealed gun.
