CASWELL BEACH, NC (WECT) - The Mayor of Caswell Beach says he's hoping to get some help when it comes to putting sand on Caswell Beach.
Currently, Mayor Harry Simmons says the town gets no funding assistance, so it's only able to put sand on Caswell Beach to help with erosion every six years, when sand is delivered from the Wilmington Harbor Channel during dredging.
Simmons says that he will be meeting with Congressman McIntyre in September, in hopes of getting the Army Corps of Engineers to finish their study on the project, and move them closer to potentially getting funding.
