NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A man from Virginia wanted in connection to the death of his wife has been charged with murder and extradited back to Amherst County, Virginia.
According to WSLS, Arnita Cheatham, of Appomattox, VA, was found murdered in a hotel room earlier this month. They are reporting she died from blunt force injuries to the head.
Investigators with the Amherst County Sheriff's Office have been searching for her husband, Sylvester Cheatham since the body was found on August 3. He was located and arrested this week in New Hanover County. The Wilmington Police Department assisted in the arrest.
He was brought back to Virginia on Friday. He is facing 1st degree murder and grand larceny charges. He's being held without bond.
