NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Clerks at two different locations were robbed at gunpoint early Monday night.

The first robbery occurred at the Dollar General in Lakewood.

Surveillance video showed the gunman entering through the door with his gun drawn and a black bandana over his face.

He pointed the gun at the clerk behind the counter and told the clerk to give him money, but the clerk couldn't get the drawer open.

The gunman said he knew what he was doing was wrong and he didn't want to hurt anyone.

Eventually the drawer opened. The gunman took the cash and got away.

The second robbery happened in west Nashville at a Daily's on Charlotte Pike.

According to the surveillance photo, the gunman didn't cover his face.

He used a gun to threaten the employee and also fled.

At the Dollar General, police said the robber was wearing a black hoodie with a football logo on it.
