NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Detectives with the Vice and Narcotics unit of the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office wrapped up a month-long investigation that ultimately removed $130,000 worth off heroin off the streets.

According to the sheriff's office, detectives were investigating a drug case and executed a search warrant last week for a home on North Fifth Street. Officials found 3,250 bags of heroin during their search of the home.

Detectives charged John Scott Hudson, Travis Lee Angel, and Rebecca C. Maxwell as a result of the investigation.

Hudson and Angel received felony charges, while Maxwell was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. No mug shot of Maxwell was provided by the sheriff's office.

Hudson was charged with:

  • trafficking heroin
  • conspiracy to traffic heroin
  • possession of drug paraphernalia
  • possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin

Angel was charged with:

  • trafficking heroin
  • conspiracy to traffic heroin
  • possession of drug paraphernalia
