Lawn care business owner charged for having $75k in stolen equipment

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A lawn care business owner in Brunswick County is facing charges for the possession of more than $75,000 worth of stolen lawn equipment.

According to the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office, detectives arrested 21-year-old Kyle Grant Pierce, of Southport, as the result of an investigation over several months.

Pierce is the owner and operator of East Coast Lawn Care out of the Southport and Boiling Spring Lakes area.

Officials say Pierce was charged with four counts of possession of stolen goods/property which include:

  • Skid steer, valued at $60,000
  • Front end loader attachment, valued at $5,000
  • Bush hog, valued at $3,000
  • John Deere Roller attachment, valued at $10,000

Pierce was also charged with two counts of felony larceny which occurred between May and July.

According to the sheriff's office, additional related charges are pending.
