The search has resumed for the remains of a Westfield teen who was killed by a serial killer more than two decades ago.
Massachusetts and New York state police dive teams are searching Greenwater Pond in Becket for Jamie Lusher's body. Wednesday is the second day of the search.
Officials say the task will be a challenge, but they are hopeful.
Lusher disappeared back in 1992. He was last seen riding his bike toward his grandmother's house in Blandford.
Monday authorities announced that convicted killer Lewis Lent confessed to abducting and murdering the teen. Lent has provided information to officials that Lusher's remains are located in the Berkshire County pond. The search began in an area off the shoulder of the road eastbound on Route 20. That location is where intelligence suggests that Lusher's body was left.
Tuesday around 18 divers and half a dozen boats took part in the search.
Officials are hoping to find skeletal remains, or clothing or any other object connected to Lusher.
If Lusher's remains are not found during the three days slotted for the search, state police say they will come back and search the pond when there is time.
