WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Part of South 12th Street in Wilmington is expected to be closed until 4:00 Wednesday afternoon while CSX crews repave the road.

Traffic will be allowed access to the street, but will not be able to cross the tracks.

The repairs come on the heels of a report on WECT earlier this week that brought attention to the damage at the intersection of S. 12th and Marstellar Streets. The city contacted CSX to fix the issue.

According to a CSX worker, crews are only repaving part of the road up to the tracks. There are no plans to replace railroad ties or any other work.
