Motorcyclist seriously hurt in Scottsdale crash

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

A motorcyclist was hospitalized after he collided with a pickup truck in Scottsdale Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The victim, whose name was not released, suffered a severe leg injury, and officers described his injuries as "serious and possibly life-threatening."

The driver of the pickup was not hurt.

The crash took place at about 3:45 p.m. at 68th Street and Thomas Road.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet, said Scottsdale police spokesman David Pubins.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor, Pubins said.

The accident remains under investigation.
