WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A resolution introduced by Congressman McIntyre could help out area post offices, starherald.com reports.
The hope is to keep them from closing in certain areas.
House Resolution 2615 would put a cap on how many rural post offices could close or consolidate in any given year.
It would also make sure the public would still have access to the postal service.
The U.S. Postal Service announced some closures in 2011 to try to make up for a lack of funds.
