Dozens of volunteers helped prepare Tim's Toyota Center in Prescott Valley for Tuesday's Yarnell Hill Firefighter Memorial service.
"This is a big event for all of us. It touches everybody," said Bill Morse, a firefighter from Flagstaff, who is also helping coordinate the service.
"I've seen people from FDNY walking in the door (from) LA and Canada. (Volunteers from) everywhere are coming into help out. It's pretty impressive for me to see the amount of volunteerism coming in. Obviously firefighters from all over the country coming in, and everybody wants to help," Morse continued.
Inside the arena, 6,000 seats sat empty. Tuesday, they will be filled with family and relatives of the victims.
"A memorial is about closure. It's about honoring these guys and helping to healing the wounds," said Morse.
Outside organizers expect about 30,000 people to pack the parking lot. All afternoon, volunteers spent their hours making sure everything was ready to honor the victims.
"Everybody wants to help. It's a beautiful thing really," said volunteer Samantha Montoya.
Montoya and her boyfriend - a firefighter from Prescott Valley - helped hang flags that lined the stadium with the names of the 19 men killed.
"We worked with them last week on the Doce fire. We're all brothers. We're all brothers," said the Prescott Valley firefighter between tears. He did not want to use his name.
