WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Several flags were stolen from Wrightsboro United Methodist Church in Wilmington overnight.
According to people with the church, seven of the 56 flags were taken. Each flag represents a military friend or family member of a church member who devoted their lives to fighting for our country.
The church began displaying the flags in November, just before Veteran's Day. They also display the flags for Memorial Day, Independence Day and 9/11.
Church members have already replaced the missing flags.
