NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – An advisory against swimming that was posted Tuesday at the Fort Fisher State Park beach access off Loggerhead Road in Kure Beach has been lifted, according to state recreational water quality officials.
Previously, water quality tests showed that there was too much bacteria in that area than what's deemed safe, and people who swim or play in water with high bacteria levels are at an increased risk of gastrointestinal illness or skin infections.
The lifting of the advisory comes after the water was re-tested Wednesday.
