BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Brunswick County Sheriff John Ingram has been elected to the Board of Directors for the National Sheriff's Association.

Ingram was voted in by his peers during The National Sheriff's Association's annual conference last week in Charlotte.

The Board of Directors  is made up of twenty-four Sheriffs from across the United States.  There were four available positions on the board.

"I am honored and humbled to be elected into this position by my peers," Ingram said. "I am excited to be able to bring more resources and knowledge to Brunswick County."

The National Sheriff's Association represents over 3,000 elected sheriffs from across the nation and is the largest association of law enforcement professionals in the United States.
