Man sentenced to more than 10 years in prison for heroin charges

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – A Wilmington man was sentenced to more than 10 years prison recently after pleading guilty in March to conspiracy to possession with the intent to distribute and distribution of a quantity of heroin and four counts of distribution of a quantity of heroin.

Terrance Goodman, 23, was sentenced June 21, a spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Justice confirms.

Authorities with the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office, the Wilmington Police Department and the FBI made four undercover purchases of heroin from Goodman between September and December 2012.

Goodman was reportedly a leader of a Wilmington street gang associated with violence and drug distribution, the investigation and testimony from sentencing shows.
