PHOENIX, AZ (WECT) – It's almost been two months since the Arizona Cardinals selected Jonathan Cooper with the 7th overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Cooper has participated in Cardinals rookie camp and OTA's, but remains unsigned.
This past week Cooper talked to Fox Sports Arizona and was asked about the status of signing. The former Hoggard Viking said he was "uncertain" how close he is to signing it.
"I put it in my agent's hands and they kind of do what they do and I play football," Cooper added.
Nine first-round picks have signed contracts, including three of the top ten picks. Under the NFL's new collective bargaining agreement, all NFL first-round draft picks can have four-year contracts with a non-negotiable fifth-year option, although not all will receive it.
