WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – One of the stars of NBC's Revolution, who often sang Wilmington's praises while filming the show in Hollywood East, is getting his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Giancarlo Esposito, who plays Major Tom Neville on Revolution, has been chosen to receive the coveted star by the Walk of Fame Selection Committee.

Esposito is also well known for his role as Gus on the popular series Breaking Bad.

Revolution wrapped production in Wilmington earlier this year and announced it was leaving Wilmington to film its second season in Austin, Texas.

While filming here, Esposito stopped by our studios several times and participated in local charity functions.

"The Walk of Fame Selection Committee is proud to announce the new Class of 2014," stated David Green, Chairman of the Walk of Fame selection committee. "We have a great mix of celebrities and industry executives who have made Hollywood what it is today - one of the greatest entertainment destinations in the world.  The new selections will bring great joy and fond memories for those millions who visit Hollywood each year!"

Those who are chosen were selected from hundreds of nominations sent to the committee. The announcement came yesterday in Hollywood after Jennifer Lopez was presented with the 2,500th star on the Walk of Fame.

According to a press release, other celebrities who will have their stars added next year include Orlando Bloom, Ray Dolby, Sally Field, Jack H. Harris, Jessica Lange, Matthew McConaughey, Liam Neeson, Paul Mazursky, Dabney Coleman, Kaley Cuoco, Claire Danes, Tom Sherak, Deidre Hall, Cheryl Hines, Don Mischer , Tavis Smiley, Phil Hartman (posthumous), Holland Dozier Holland, Jeff Lynne, Mana, Ray Parker Jr., Katy Perry, Rick Springfield and Tupac Amaru Shakur (posthumous).
