WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Wilmington Police have arrested a young woman in connection with a hit-and-run incident that led to the death of a bicyclist Thursday evening in the city.

Judith Margaret Nemeth, 23, was charged Saturday with felony hit and run and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.  She was booked on a $25,000 bond. She posted bond on Saturday and was released from jail.

Investigators say Zachary Paul Tyler was hit and killed by a vehicle on Wrightsville Avenue near the intersection of Allens Lane, behind the Harris Teeter Thursday night. The driver of the car fled the scene.

According to the owner of King Neptune's in Wrightsville Beach, Tyler was employee at the restaurant.

The driver of a medical supply truck tried to perform CPR at the scene, but it was too late.

Friday night, officers found the car reportedly involved in a hit and run that killed the 27-year-old on Thursday night.

Around 6 p.m. Friday, a WPD officer located the late-model Toyota at the intersection of Marsh Hawk Court and Duck Hawk Court. The driver of the car is still at large.

Officers say they could tell the car had been involved in an accident. They got a search warrant and collected other evidence from the car before having it towed to another location. They say the car was not registered in the Wilmington area.

Police say Nemeth is from Brevard, North Carolina.

Funeral services for Tyler will be held on Monday, with a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Myrtle Grove Presbyterian Church on Piner Road in Wilmington.
