WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WECT) - Leaders in Wrightsville Beach will consider a plan Thursday night to establish a central location for post-emergency needs.
The Executive Development Center connected to New Hanover County's northeast library would serve as a one stop shop for anything a person might need after a hurricane rolls through Wrightsville beach, according to Town Manager Tim Owens.
Owens said it would work as a base of operations for the power company, insurance agents and any other relief organizations that someone might access after severe weather.
Town leaders rejected an offer from New Hanover County to rent some space in the Emergency Management Center for operations during a hurricane. Owens said this is not the same situation because this would cover operations after the emergency is over.
