WILMINGTON, NC - (WECT-) - The Historic Downtown Marketplace is returning to Downtown Wilmington, but this summer things will be a little different.
On Sunday, a couple of vendors lined the Waterfront, selling paintings and even dog beds, but organizers say it will get much bigger than it's been for the past six years.
This year they are planning to improve the market by adding musical performances and demonstrations to the mix.
"We are really reaching out to new crafters, new vendors, performance artists and musicians, we are really trying to support the arts community and open doors to people that might not have other ways or a venue to get into," said Suzette Hawley, the marketplace's volunteer coordinator.
They hope the improved market will make the Waterfront a destination all weekend long, with concerts on Friday, the Farmers' Market on Saturday and this now on Sundays.
