Sharks blank Marlins 10-0

The Wilmington Sharks came out victorious on Saturday night, with a 9-0 win over the Morehead City Marlins. The bats came alive for the Sharks, as eight different batters picked up hit in Saturday night's contest. The Sharks finished with 13 hits on the evening.

The offense started rolling in the first inning when Zach MacAneney and Zach Houchins singled to get on base. Two batters later Alex Freedman, the third year Shark drove in two runs to give the Sharks a 2-0 lead.

Brandon Rawe tripled to start the second inning with a shot down the right field line, he eventually scored on a MacAneney hit to left field to give the Sharks a 3-0 lead. The Sharks picked up three runs in the fourth and three more runs in the eighth to give them a 9-0 lead and close out the game.

MacAneney went 4-5 with two RBIs and third baseman Zach Houchins in his first game with the Sharks went 3-5 with an RBI. The winning pitcher for Wilmington was Tyler Bolton, a sophomore from East Carolina University. He threw six innings of scoreless baseball, gave up two hits and struck out six.

The Wilmington Shark's next game is on Monday night on the road against the Morehead City Marlins.
