WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Police in Wilmington are investigating a deadly shooting in the Hillcrest community that happened late Friday night.

Police say they got a call around 11:30 p.m. and found Eugene Logan, 31, in the 1000 block of Lincoln Court. He was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center where he died.

We dug deeper and found this isn't the first time Logan was the target of a gunman.

According to our archives, in 2007, he was shot at least once while sitting on steps of a house on 6th Street.

We checked and Logan does have a criminal record. He spent time behind bars for drug charges.

Most recently, he was arrested in November of 2012 for resisting a public officer, trespassing and driving with a revoked license.

No more information has been released on this case.  If you can help police, call 343-3600 or text a tip by entering Tip708 and your information and then sending it to 274637.
