Traffic accident sends 4 to hospital; 3 in serious condition

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Four people were taken to the hospital Monday morning after a traffic accident around 8:00 a.m.

According to officials, two cars crashed near Malpass Corner and Highway 421. A Ford F150 was heading north on Highway 421 and hit a Honda, carrying a driver and two passengers.

Troopers believe the Honda didn't yield, so it was hit by the Ford causing it to spin around and crash into someone's front yard.

The driver of the Honda, 42-year-old Uh Oo Neg of Trent Woods, was cut out of the vehicle and taken to the hospital by Airlink. The two other passengers in the Honda, Myo Aung, 30 of Trent Woods, and Mar Bee, 26 of Trent Woods, were taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

Authorities say they are all in serious condition at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Bee and Aung were supposed to take part in the Moores Creek Naturalization Ceremony Monday. They were both naturalized at the hospital instead.

The driver of the Ford, Hubert Marshall Coalson, 71 of St. Petersburg, FL, was also taken to the hospital.
