Friendly crowd applauds Edwards' speech

About 1,000 Kerry-Edwards supporters snapped up tickets for Monday's speech, and, not surprisingly, they liked what they heard.

The event was sponsored by UNCW College Democrats. It was a friendly crowd for Edwards -- not a boo or hiss was to be heard.

There were no protests outside, either although there was a small demonstration by Kerry's opponents near the Student Union.

The crowd in Kenan Auditorium interrupted Edwards several times with applause, and when it was over not a negative word could be heard.
