Defense rests in Cummings trial

The defense rested on Friday afternoon in the Paul Cummings murder trial. 24-year old, Paul Cummings is charged with stabbing his neighbor, Jane Head, to death nearly two years ago.

In a written admission filed in court documents, Cummings admitted to the killing, but stated he wasn't in his right mind.

The defense argued that Cummings was suffering from a mental disorder, and that he was abused as a child.

If convicted of first degree murder, Cummings could face the death penalty. Closing arguments could begin as early as Monday afternoon.
