WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Powerball craziness has taken over the country and that was definitely the case for at least one store in Wilmington.
Employees at the Han-Dee-Hugos off Shipyard Boulevard say lots of people are coming in to buy tickets.
The jackpot has swelled to over $600 million dollars.
It's the biggest jackpot since California entered the multi-state game last month and the second highest jackpot of all time.
Odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 175.2 million but several players in Wilmington are still excited about their chances.
"It really is exciting," said George Jones. "I think it's a good thing even if you don't win, it still gives people hope. At least it gives people something to look forward to."
"You never know, you never know what your chances are," said Jason McKinney. "They say the chances are like 1 in a billion or you have a better chance of being hit by lightning, but you never know."
The drawing takes place Saturday night at 11:00 p.m. Tune in to WECT News at Eleven for the final numbers.
