WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Expect traffic delays Thursday morning while crews from CFPUA work to repair two sewers, one near the intersection of Wellington Avenue and 17th Street and a second in front of 1910 Eastwood Road.

According to CFPUA, both projects involve sewer service work intended to improve the existing infrastructure and reduce the potential for sewer system overflows and backups in the areas.

Wellington Avenue and S. 17th Street

The intersection will be closed on the western side of 17th Street. All traffic will be detoured around the area. This work will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Drivers are advised to find an alternate route if possible.

Eastwood Road

The eastbound turn lane will be diverted from the work zone. This work is expected to take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
