Homeowner robbed at gunpoint in Monkey Junction area

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT)- Authorities are looking for two men who are accused of robbing a home at gunpoint Tuesday night.

The home invasion happened in the 4800 block of Long Branch Drive near Monkey Junction.

According to officials with the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office, two men invaded the home around 9:15 p.m. Dispatch said both suspects had guns and one of them might have been carrying a crowbar.

They are accused of taking a cell phone from a woman in the home.

According to dispatch, the suspects were two men. One was wearing a white tank top with a black shirt wrapped around his neck. The other, thought to be between 5'8" and 5'10" and heavy set, was wearing a black mask, black sweater and Timberland boots. Dispatch says the men are possibly in a silver Honda Accord.

There no reports of any injuries.

The SABLE responded to search for the men. Crews left the scene around 1:15 a.m.

The sheriff's office said "they are investigating to see if any other motives were involved."
