Law enforcement deliver 95 charges during 2-week operation

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Several law enforcement agencies joined efforts two consecutive weekends for an ongoing Community Betterment Project.

According to the Fair Bluff Police Department, the goal of the project is to make the streets safer for the citizens of Columbus County and to get violent offenders off the street.

Law enforcement focused efforts on the Town of Fair bluff and the City of Chadbourn for this two week operation that resulted in 95 charges:

May 3 & 4, 2013

  • Felony Trafficking Opium: 2
  • Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture Sell and Deliver Marijuana: 1
  • Felony Maintaining a vehicle for purpose of Narcotics: 2
  • Misdemeanor Possession Marijuana: 7
  • Possession of Schedule 4 Narcotics: 1
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: 8
  • Carrying Concealed Weapon: 1
  • Driving While License Revoked: 11
  • Open container of alcohol in motor vehicle: 2
  • Revoked Registration: 1
  • Expired Registration: 6
  • No Insurance: 2
  • No Operators License: 6
  • Fictitious Registration: 3
  • No Seat Belt: 6
  • Inspection Violation: 5
  • Speeding: 1
  • Other motor vehicle violations: 11
  • Warning Tickets: 2
  • Warrants Served: 3

  • Consume Alcohol on an ABC premise only having off Premise Permits: 1
  • Driving While License Revoked: 3

  • Expired Registration: 1
  • Inspection Violation: 3
